ski ya!

Sunlight mountain is reporting four new inches of snow at five thirty this morning, and it's still coming down. The storm should last through monday evening, if the weathermen are right. Sometimes they get it, sometimes they miss by miles. With over a million calculations done by computers per forecast, I guess we have to give them some slack when they miss and a little props when they're right. So, I'm sitting here naked blogging while my wife and I get ready to go hit the slopes, it's sure to be a great day.
Yesterday was good, too. With only one inch new reported, the skiing was still well worth the twenty minute drive from my front door to the hill. I also have twenty-four hours after it stops snowing to get the snow removed from the properties I'm paid to shovel in New Castle. I now look at powder day as not only that, but as money days. I go in the mornings and do the snow removal for the nineteen homes and eight community mailboxes, and still make it to Sunlight for the last few runs of the day. Not to mention, I need the exercise.
I'm still hoping to get some new skis pretty soon, but it depends on how much work I get. I know this next week I'll get at least twenty hours, and that pays pretty good. I still wonder how my last job did their taxes, I work half as much and take home nearly as much with a slightly lower hourly wage. I'm thinkin' those dudes are crooked, actually know it. Oh, well, someday their uppins will come. Life has a way of working out in the end, we all end up where we belong, and get what we deserve, good or bad.
Well, I'd better put one some clothes, eat some breakfast, have a little coffee, give my skis a look over. I've got to check if I have a couple of rivets to fix my boot buckle, but I think the nails I jerry rigged will hold another day. Ski ya!
