My name is

Hi there. I'm Bansheecolorado. I am a rider, rep and team manager for Banshee Dead Bros, the Banshee Mountain Bikes factory team in Colorado. Yeah, it may sound glamorous, and it kind of is, in a mountain bike kinda way. We have a good time, luckily we're not trying to ge rich. We all just like to ride our bikes and race our bikes.
I grew up in Fruita, so I've been in the scene in one way or another for most of my life. I left Fruita in 1996, about the time that it became the mtb mecca it is today. Back then we just rode our bikes, whatever they may be. I grew up riding bmx, road bikes, and motorcycles. Mountain bikes weren't tough enough for a wreckless kid like me. I broke my first 26" bike by riding off my roof, wich had no landing, and wound up with a broken frame, bent fork, two broken ribs and a concussion. I can't say I learned much from it other than to get better landings for crap like that.
The point is, we simply rode what we had. I remember riding my bmx bike on Mary's loop and Lion's loop one day. My friend Pat had a full suspension Specialized mountain bike, a really nice light one, and I had no envy of it. Even after fifteen miles I was happy with my bmx, despite the looks from all the old guys on their shiny 27 speed ultra light rigs. Pat and I had a good laugh every time the other riders would tell us we needed helmets. It just didn't seem relevant in our youthful, foolish eyes. I was usually more concerned with trying to keep my tires from going flat. I rode several trails with below adequate pressure, borrowing pumps from other riders to prolong my enjoyment. It's funny how much has changed.
I'm sure it'll be funny how much is going to change.......
